R&P — what are some of you’re favorite bands…?

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

That you never actually name when you’re here on Y!A? I’m not talking about guilty pleasures, I’m talking about the enthusiastic bands that you meet never seem to mention. The ones that seem out of place among all the Led Zeppelin/Beatles/Black Sabbath questions. They strength be underground, they may intercommunicate German, I don’t care, meet give us some beatific bands that you usually don’t name often.

For mine, I’ve got a few; phonograph the Ghost – they unsealed for Ben Folds fivesome (another awing band) a patch ago, released an awing azygos (“Hold It In”) and still don’t get much attention. Criminal. Authority set – a stripling rock band from Arizona. They’re pretty cool. They’re getting more popular but still only hit about 15 reviews on iTunes. They’ve been compared to Sublime and RATM. Can you get any better? And finally, unsafe Tendencies – the angriest stripling band ever. They branch out into other genres, a bit of a rarity.

All done. What about you?

(Doesn’t hit to be underground. meet has to be “rarely mentioned.”)

Noise Cancelling Headphones…If You’re Not Into Punk Rock

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Here’s an interesting fact: people who listen to music in their headphones too loudly can suffer from permanent hearing loss. Well, that’s not that interesting and many people would agree with that statement. Here’s why it’s an interesting fact: The reason people listen to music too loudly is not necessarily because they love blasting music. Rather, it’s because the scenery good is too blasting and interferes with the music.

So what’s the solution? Music should be enjoyed finished headphones (remember, not everyone shares your singable tastes!)…that’s a given. But music doesn’t hit to be enjoyed at a massive volume. After all, the true enjoyment of music does not come from the intensity but from the quality of the sound.

And how do you get good quality? One of the ways is to reduce the outside good you hear. This is done finished noise cancelling headphones.

What are noise canceling headphones? The most common identify is the kind that goes over your ear and completely encloses it in a shell. There’s soft padding around the sides so it conforms to your head. This identify of shape is called circumaural, although you need to know that not all circumaural’s are noise cancelling headphones.

Aside from that shape, noise canceling headphones hit another piece of profession that allows them to actually eliminate the scenery sounds: they use special circuitry, padding insulation, and other profession inside the shell of the part that goes over your ear. This special circuitry works to kill noises from the outside as the good waves are directed toward you.

The result? Put them on and the world goes quiet. That would allow you to listen to great music at a lower intensity and enjoy it more, while keeping others from having to listen to your unique singable tastes.

Because of the insulation and circuitry required to deaden scenery sounds, the head phones would naturally be bigger in size than the small earbuds you use in your ears. So they may not ever be appropriate for travel. If you’re cycling or sport on the bus, you need to hear the scenery sounds for country or to know when your stop is. However, if you’re traveling by form or you want to hit a stilly period in a hotel that seems too loud, the noise canceling headphones are just the abstract you’ll need for absolute privacy.

If these types of cans are too expensive, you may want to study circumaural headphones that are not noise cancelling. They’ll still dampen the noise. Or, if you encounter that they are too big and bulky, you may want to bypass earbuds and instead acquire canalbuds. Earbuds fit correct at the end of your ear canal while canalbuds actually go into your ear. They do a meliorate job of deadening outside sounds. These are often referred to as noise isolating or supine types of head phones.
